There is something about Techies

I'm quite sure I am not the only creative/semi-creative entity on the face of this earth who has had problems with techies.

What is it about their training/DNA/countenance that make them impervious to something as basic as COMMON SENSE?

Pardon me if I have hurt the feelings of millions of techies out there, but if you are a true blue hard core programmer and you are reading this, help me understand this creature called the developer.
